Carlisle student who took Danny DeVito cutout to prom finally met actual human Danny DeVito

A girl took a cardboard cutout of Danny DeVito to her prom, after seeing it he cut her out and took it to the set of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ 🙌

A Carlisle student has finally met her famous prom date.

Aspiring filmmaker and former Carlisle High School student Allison Closs drew a lot of attention when she showed up to her senior prom with a cardboard cutout of Danny DeVito in May.

Closs admitted at the time that she was hoping the stunt would somehow lead to her meeting the actor in real life.

Instead, DeVito — star of films and series such as “Taxi,” “Romancing the Stone,” “Matilda,” “One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest” and “The Lorax” — took photographs of himself with a cardboard cutout of Allison on the set of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

It seemed the humorous gesture had come full circle … until Closs was invited out to Los Angeles to appear on an episode of CBS’s “The Talk” for her viral prom maneuver.

That’s when Closs was surprised by an appearance by DeVito himself, finally fulfilling her master plan.

We’re not sure what the next move is in this escalating series of appearances. Maybe DeVito will crash her wedding someday? Or next time they meet, they can both bring their cardboard cutouts of each other? Whatever it is, we’re here for it.

Closs isn’t the first high school student to interact with the cast of “It’s Always Sunny.” In 2016, when Bishop McDevitt student Aniya Wolf was banned from her prom for wearing a tux, she was invited by the cast to come to the set by actor Rob McElhenney.
